Data license

Kiruna Atmospheric and Geophysical Observatory (KAGO) is an organisational unit within Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF). The purpose of KAGO is among other things to provide uninterrupted data series of the conditions of the atmosphere and near Earth space, for the scientists of the future.

Attribution

• You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use (Example provided below).

• No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

If data is to be used in scientific work

• First, always contact Principal Investigator (PI) of the instrument or the Head of KAGO for advice how to proceed.

• The instrument PI will provide scientific support to aid proper interpretation of the data.

• Offer co-authorship according to normal scientific publication rules to the Head of KAGO, the instrument PI, and others contributing. For minor contributions the PI might decide that an acknowledgement is more appropriate.

• When a scientific publication that includes data from IRF is accepted for publication, a complete reference list together with a manuscript in its final form must be sent to the Head of KAGO, to ensure that the bibliography of the use of KAGO data can be kept up to date.

• If a generally accepted method on citing data sources is available, it should be used.

Usage limits

IRF reserves the right to rate limit or block users abusing its IT infrastructure and APIs. This includes but is not limited to overuse of bandwidth, rate of requests, and bad requests creating repeated errors. Read official API documentation.
