Ski - O
this is my number ONE leisure time activity. Well some say its my main activity...... they are right ! It is an embarrasing amount of time that I spend skiing, roller-skiing and training, but the competitions really make the effort worthwile, that is if you are lucky to be able to fight someone down.
Something thats very good and really builds morale is cross-country skiing
THE sport that sorts the boys from the men.
Previously I used to be equally mad about
orienteering and I still think a perfect race in tough terrain give you
as much satisfaction it is possible to get from a sport. The complete
concentration beeing in the state of flow during the hardest physical pressure,
running under various conditions in tough terrain. Hard competition against
your oponents, against the clock, against the forest, mastering the most
different problems, running on - not beyond - the limit - physical and mental
- and finally comming out on top of it all "with your soul untoutched".
