MARA is deployed and operated by
IRF Swedish Institute of Space Physics
and the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat
during summer campaigns at Wasa / Aboa
the Swedish/Finnish research station (73° 03 S, 13° 25’W)
starting in the Antarctic summer season 2006 / 2007 and covering the
International Polar Year period

Funded by Knut and Alice Wallenbergs stiftelse (Sweden)
hardware constructed by Genesis Software Pty (Australia)
logistical support from Swedish Polar Research Secretariat

Scientific Applications : Waves and Aerosol Particles in the Antarctic Mesosphere, Dynamics,
seasonal variation and chemistry of the tropospheric Antarctic Aerosol (in cooperation with Finnish Meteorological Institute), Contributions to operational meteorology in the Antarctic.
