Ulysses
The Ulysses satellite (Picture by ESA)
Ulysses, a unique heliospheric mission to study the 3-D
heliospheric view for the first time, passes the solar poles (80°
heliospheric latitude) during the solar minimum (1995-1996) and solar
maximum (2000-2001). EPAC (energetic particle composition)
instrument is composed of four identical telescopes, each of which
measures
electrons (several hundred keV) and various ions (MeV) using
solid-state
detector.
