SKERRIES

 

SKERRIES is a project to collect climatological information about trace gases and electrical properties in the Arctic stratosphere by regular balloon flights from Esrange.

The instruments flown are :

SKERRIES flights (about 3 per year) are scheduled to complement flights with the same or similar instruments in other balloon programmes (e.g. the EU funded THESEO and SAMMOA projects). First flights were made on 25 August and 8 December 1998. Flights in 1999 were on 26 August, 9 November and 15 December. Three flights are planned for August-December 2000.
