Dark Matter in the Universe

Recent cosmological measurements point towards a model of the universe composed by about 70% of an unknown kind of energy and about 30% of matter. But only 4% of matter in the universe is thought to be baryonic, that is, made of known particles. We call Dark Matter all the matter we don't see and that we don't know what it is made of. In this seminar we will review the evidence for the existence of Dark Matter, as well as a survey of possible Dark Matter candidates and detection strategies.
