Or: New sensors for humidity observations in the UTLS region by Radio Occultation
Satellite-based radio occultation measurement can provide temperature and humidity profiles in all weather conditions with high absolute accuracy and vertical resolution. The lecture introduces this technique using the example of the instrument concept ACE+, which was one of the candidate missions in the last ESA mission selection round. Content: Scientific background, observation technique, hardware issues, performance simulations.
